It is as common as sex but generally goes down better in public seeing as nudity is not a kissing necessity.
For those of you not accustomed to this act of showing affection due to living in a cave for the greater part of your life, I have found a site just for you:

“Whether you're new to the whole kissing thing, or a seasoned pro looking to brush up on the basics, Kissing 101 covers the fundamental information you need to know for good kissing.” http://www.virtualkiss.com/kissingschool/kissing101.asp - The internet can be wonderful but ever so often, a site like this makes me think again.

I also discovered a Kissing Quiz that could help you discover your own true kissing style (what is the world coming to?) Try it yourself at http://quiz.ivillage.com/love/tests/kissingstyle.htm
Be warned that the Quizmaster has apparently been deprived of sex and is now trying to make everyone else think their sex life is equally as bad.

My outcome included:

“You may want to ask yourself why you so seldom let your intimate moments grow passionate. Are you afraid to get too intense? Are you uncomfortable with your sexual side? Insecure about your lovemaking skills?”

– Those of you that know me in any way at all, would love the irony behind that, I am sure. I am GAY for god sakes, we’re all sluts!

For those of you that are into the whole ‘Star Sign’ thing I found a site that gives a description of the kissing styles of each Sigh of the Zodiac: http://love.astrology.com/kissing.html

Aries Your kisses are quick and passionate fits of lustful pleasure that are there and then gone.

Taurus Your kisses linger; they are deliberate, heartfelt and they can go on and on and on…

Gemini Your kisses are interrupted by spasms of giggles, smiles and funny observations.

Cancer Your kisses are warm and tender, and you never want to let them go.

Leo Your kisses are wild and uninhibited, biting and clawing; you expect applause for your performance.

Virgo Your kisses are so subtle and tidy, your lover only notices them once you've finished.

Libra You're too busy worrying about your breath to really get into your kisses.

Scorpio You skip the kiss and get to straight to … whatever comes next for you.

Sagittarius Your kisses are surprising, spontaneous affairs that leave the kissed wanting more.

Capricorn Your kisses are intense moments of sublime relief from the stress of your day.

Aquarius Your kisses are wet and messy, and you tend to keep your eyes open.

Pisces Your kisses are starry-eyed, amorous and long-lasting.

Probably the most interesting site I found whilst Googleing ‘kissing’ was: ‘Kissen Garden’ - http://kiss.ksanlab.com/ where, for some odd reason, people plant fruit in trees for other people to kiss… Anyone can kiss your fruit thus making it grow. Why exactly I do not know, but what the hell, I planted a fruit! You can find it at http://kiss.ksanlab.com/fruit-226-10.html or on ‘Hectare 226’ – the red pear-like thing in the middle of the screen. So go and plant a Kissing Fruit and spread some love! In addition, DO NOT forget to kiss mine you bastards!

Some interesting facts about Kissing I found on Wikipedia:

“Kissing is a complex behavior that requires significant muscular coordination; in fact, a total of twenty muscles working cooperatively. I am not sure if this might help me decipher the problems surrounding the plot of my novel I am writing at the moment, but hopefully it will encourage me to post more regularly on this site.

It works like this: once a week the owners of SundayScribblings sets a topic, which seems to usually only consist of a single word, which you use as inspiration for a blog posting on your own blog. You then post a comment on their site under the topic stating that you have participated and they then add a link to your blog entry for other participants to review.

Ok so it’s kinda boring and a little corny (especially when you see the topics) but what the hell, don’t have anything better to do.

This week’s topic is “Kissing” so let us see in what way I can rape that one into something remotely interesting…

Realities of the New Year

2007 is well in the works and so the holiday season is dead and buried - along with moldy Christmas cake and rejected New Years resolutions. Are you smart?
Well, I’m intelligent enough to know that whoever created this questionnaire is obviously a dumb fuck; on the other side of the coin I can probably be considered the same for posting this on my blog… Then again, I am a little drunk at the moment…

Taken from: http://tragic-frustration.blogspot.com

Upgrade almost complete

Okay, fine I know this is taking a while, but all good things come with time…
(actually I’ve just been busy doing nothing)

Anyway, the site’s almost finished. The pubs surrounding campus are also crowded all day but seem to get worse around the same time as the end of the last lecture.

This is apparently a vital part of a healthy balanced student community even though some lecturers don’t always agree on this.

As the vast redbrick paved area in the middle of campus slowly adjusted itself to the likings of an abandoned town in a bad western movie of the late 70’s, two lone figures emerged from around the corner of a tall white building bearing the name Faculty of Industrial Psychology.

At any other time of the day, judging by their attempt to run whilst still seaming to be walking, one would have thought they’re late for a Philosophy 242 lecture. It was however twenty-to-six in the afternoon and they were hastily heading for the pub on the corner of Elizabeth and Andringa.

This was the pub to be seen at according to the editor of the weekly campus newspaper.

It was however only the students from the BA Faculty that ever read the newspaper.

SMS “T-A-K-E _M-E_4_A_R-I-D-E” to 31515

(This post is about 2 weeks old - only posting it now coz I had trouble with getting the site running again)

Those of you so inclined to actually watch South Africa’s “free TV channels”, especially e-tv, would probably have noticed the terribly irritating phenomenon of mobile phone related advertisements being aired constantly in the past year or so.

These ads are starting to work on my nerves, as I am sure is also the case of many other viewers. Those of you that have not yet experienced these ads please take some time to watch “free tv” (after nine pm to get the full impact), after which you will most certainly understand my feelings towards these ads. Pay attention to how little info they give about the product, the overall usefulness (or uselessness) of the product, the bad quality of the image they use to display the overall price you will be paying and of course the conditions and hidden costs displayed at the bottom of the screen. You may have problems with the latter seeing as this is displayed in unreadable small print and is only shown for a few seconds even though it would take at least a minute for any competent person to read and fully comprehend.

I’ve come to understand that this is just another way of making money out of unfortunate, unknowing victims of the mobile-boom. I suppose this was a gap in the money making world which someone saw and had to take advantage of, fair enough for them. But what about the poor mobile users out there that don’t understand that these “companies” are taking them for a ride? These poor victims mostly consist of children that just received their first cell phone and are caught up in the “must have better than everyone else” world were the newest ringtone, background or mobile game can make or brake your reputation on the schoolyard. The older generation that grew up without this technology also suffers from these ads (as if they don’t already have enough to suffer from at the ripe old age of sixty).

But don’t think that those of us lucky enough to be part of as well as understand the ins and outs of the “mobile revolution” generation get away unharmed. Our viewing pleasure is still interrupted by these crap ads trying to sell us anything from a mobile ringtone that sounds like a homeless person on crack trying to let you know your phone is ringing, to screensavers of the ugliest porn stars from Timbuktu.

Is there any point behind any of these “products” other than to make us spend money on things we could get for free from other sources, and to clutter our phone archives and the nation’s networks?

I wish someone would tell everyone that these ringtones, screensavers and so forth, serve absolutely no purpose on your mobile phone other than take up space and to decrease your phone’s performance. Most of these “products” can just as easily be downloaded from the www or through wap for free, cheaper or at least without the monthly prescription you have to pay just to get access to these items according to these ads. Keep in mind that these items most probably are copyrighted and are not intended for distribution – but do you get any proof that you paid for the specific item and/or that you have not infringed any copyright laws when you downloaded this item by means of these advertisements?

I personally don’t understand the point of subscribing to a “mobile content club” (at a rate of R10 per week I have to add) to personalize my phone. These ads are everywhere and everyone sees the same bloody ads, thus everyone personalizes there phones according to the content advertised, which means that my cousin on the other side of the country can potentially have the same ringtone/screensaver on her phone as I have on mine. So where’s the personalization behind that? That for R10 a week excluding the R5 per item downloaded and not mentioning the costs involved in unsubscribing?

Firstly, it’s a rip-off financially and secondly I’d be able to do a much better job of personalizing my phone by just using my own creative skills and my USB cable or Bluetooth. But like I said before, there is also no point in this; it’s just a phone people! It’s not like it makes any difference what celebrity image you have for a background or whether or not your ringtone says anything about what kind of person you are. Everyone else is so caught up in there own personal phone setting that they don’t even notice yours, so why bother?

It’s all about function – fine I don’t have a subscription to the “Paris People - mobile content club”, I don’t have 765 different images of Paris Hilton on my phone, or her full album mixed and unmixed in 9 different languages as my ringtone – but at least my phone’s 20 times faster than yours, I’ve got enough space to store all the photos I can possibly take when I finally spot that pink elephant, I don’t have to get the shock of my life if every time my phone rings, Paris’s dog stares at me like an aids orphan in a pink Gucci bag and I can still tell the difference between my cell phone and my baby sisters Tamagotchi . And to top it all off, I didn’t have to subscribe to any “mobile clubs” or pay for any of these features so I’ve got more money to spend on the original propose behind the mobile phone – actually phoning people!

The First Post

(This post is about 2 weeks old - only posting it now coz I had trouble with getting the site running again)

Seeing as this is the first posting I suppose I should say a few things about myself so whoever actually finds this blog interesting enough to want to follow it will at least know where I’m coming from. (This might be a mind-boggling task…)

I was born on the 18th of April 1985 in Johannesburg, South Africa. Spent my childhood and school years in Joburg and surrounding areas after which I moved to Stellenbosch in the Western Cape to attend University (some people say this was a cover-up and that I was actually doing the ironing for Buckingham Palace in hopes of meeting the queen). I am presently getting ready to move back to Johannesburg to try and start a career in design and the arts – it seems like the least demanding career seeing as you only need to draw an image every now and again and fiddle on the pc when ever you have time.

I plan on posting many things on this site regarding my views on whichever topic I find interesting at the time. Thus this won’t be a site dedicated to any specific aim other than to put my thoughts out into the world, no matter how random they might be or whether or not they’re of any value to anyone. This means that most of it might not make any sense to anyone but me, and frankly I don’t really care, most people I’ve spoken to don’t either. I’m also most probably gonna be rambling on about people in my life, whom most readers wont know anything about, but this is just my way of getting rid of frustrations without making a huge scene in public, and of course to avoid confrontation for as long as possible if my comments happen to lead to a fistfight . (Sorry if you happen to be someone I bitch about in the future, it’s nothing personal, please don’t hit me…)

A few of the topics and comments that will most likely surface every so often, seeing as I do get caught up in these trains of thought regularly, will probably include the following:

1 Art and Design

Seeing as I plan to make a living around this topic, I suppose I will be talking about this a lot. I’m at present trying to get a freelance design company up and going under the name of agonnaldia (which is my trademark name – and don’t tell me that’s not original…) and will be posting a lot about the developments surrounding this as well as other art and design issues that might be floating around in the mess of grey matter also known as my mind.

2 Philosophy

I love philosophizing over life and all it mysteries, especially those surrounding art, reality, perception and interpretation (also the more important mysteries like why on earth would that fly want to fly straight in to my wine?). Even though I did have philosophy subjects at university, I’m not too fazed about every famous philosopher’s views about everything - and believe you me, most of them have about three contradicting views about practically anything. I rather see it as a journey of self understanding and trying to work things out for myself rather than just taking Aristotle, Kant or Nietzsche’s word for it – I’m sure there’s more to it all then they’re letting on.

3 Religion

I don’t see myself as being part of any particular religion (that includes atheism for those that wouldn’t normally classify it as a particular religion). I do however believe in the concept of religion as a human attempt to explain that which we can not understand, and by the looks of it, there is rather a lot we don’t. I see religion as playing a great part in what makes the human race what it was, is and will become. This makes the topic unarguably an interesting one to take on, especially when one starts to compare different religions or question specific religious practices, or even religion as a whole. No offence to anyone, I just like to debate about these things in an attempt to find answers to the many questions we as humans have raised over the years – it’s odd that most of theses questions only came into being after we invented the concept of religion though…

4 The Global Society, People and the Media

I find it so interesting when looking at the world as a whole and seeing the interactions between the different countries, cultures, leaders, organizations, religions, celebrities and public figures. These interactions are sometimes so ridiculous and obscure that one could only but laugh at the mockery we make of ourselves. On the other side of the coin, this is also becoming a problem when looking at interactions between Bush and The Middle East (or rather every country other then the USA). Either way I feel that these topics should be discussed and everyone should practice their freedom of speech - even if no one is actually listening.

5 Life, the Universe and Everything

This is most probably the greatest, most important, and most written about topic in the history of the universe. Yet we are still asking the wrong question: “The question of life, the universe and everything”. Well 37 is just not cutting it for me, so I am on one of those life long journeys (like everyone else in this world – even if they wont admit it) to discover the true meaning of my life, even if I have to die trying – which everyone keeps telling me is the only way I’ll ever get to the end of this bloody matter. Pardon all the puns in this paragraph but it only seams fitting seeing as life itself is nothing but a pun in anyway.

You’ve also probably noticed by now that I can really go on about anything and everything without making any point. Well this brings me back to the fact that this blog does not, and will not have any particular aim and there is no actual point to it – such is life. In other words the point that I’m trying to make, is that there isn’t any, that’s what makes it so interesting…

I’d like to just end off with a quote from a song that got stuck in my mind. At first I thought some grater entity is trying to send me a message through Win Amp – laugh all you like, I know this guy that put his play list on shuffle, some bug in his software made the program only play parts of a song then skip to the next. He realized it only shuffled through curtain songs in sequence and started writing the numbers of the songs down. A week later he won the lotto… Anyway, this song has made no sense to me as yet so I think it might have been directed to the wrong Win Amp serial code but there was no return address so I’ll just post it here in hopes that it might reach the recipient it was intended for. Might just mean something to you reading this…

Faithless – ‘Liontamer’

“If you place a thing in the center of your life that lacks the power to nourish. It will eventually poison everything that you know and destroy it. As simple a thing as an idea, or your perspective of your self in the world. Nothing can be the source of your content; it lies beneath, in the center.”

finally

this time i finally got it working.
the site still needs a bit of fine tuning but will try and get that fixed when my pc arrives in joburg.
at least the posting works now...
